Back to School Theme Card
This week at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge, we are creating a Back to School theme card. I tool inspiration from my oldest son, Trip, who is very fond of pencils. Scented pencils, fancy pencils, all are nice but he most enjoys standard pencils… all lined in a row. Did I mention the pencils must keep a nice point? This makes him happy and thus pencils will always have a special association for me. Fortunately I have a perfect pencil in Pieces & Patterns stamp set!
This is a great opportunity to create a card with any products you wish while following the idea of a pre set theme. Be sure to go over to the page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!
Back to School Theme Card
Pieces & Patterns stamp set
Pieces & Patterns is a really cool stamp set. The images are cleanly drawn and lend a detailed look that translates well into different cardmaking styles. To create the row of stamped pencils on this project I decided to not feel the pressure of making them in an exact and concise row. With that not weighing on me, the images stamped nicely using Basic Black Archival ink and using a scrap of paper as a guide for keeping within an area. This ink type is permanent and allows for easy coloring.
Stampin’ Write Markers
Stampin’ Write Markers carry the same water based ink as the Classic Stampin’ Pads, so matching the colors is a breeze! The brush tip applies a nice amount of color and for small areas such as the eraser, the point tip is perfect. Using markers for this project helped color the images quickly.
