Cookie Cutter Christmas Kid
Christmas card season is going strong! Making a Christmas card with a Cookie Cutter Christmas Kid as the focal point was so much fun. Coloring therapy is always nice for me. In the Online Stampin Blends Course, I have been coloring up a storm with all sorts of images. I created this little cutie as an example for the Session that covers coloring in hair, skin and clothing. Adding a background panel to resemble northern lights was the icing on the cake for me 🙂

Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set
Not only is this little cutie in the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set, there is a teddy bear, santa and a reindeer image. And if you like the convenience of using a punch, all of the images I listed will work with the same punch! Lots of possibilities for the Holiday season and beyond. I chose to color this kid with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I have been coloring so many images lately with them that I’m discovering so many new ways to color my stamp sets!
Working with Alcohol Markers
My image is colored with just a few markers on hand: Lt Bermuda Bay, Lt Smoky Slate, Lt Pumpkin Pie, Dk Crumb Cake and Bronze. I stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White Thick card stock and once the image is dry, it’s color time!
The background is colored with the same supplies, with the addition of Dk Daffodil Delight, Dk Pool Party and Lt Night of Navy. The colors blend so well that achieving the look of Northern Lights was not difficult at all! Once the paper is saturated with ink, the blending happens naturally.
Sparkling snow banks are here to give contrast to the background and were a cinch to cut from Layering Ovals dies. I die cut one large oval and cut it in half, lengthwise, and offset them in a natural angle. With added Clear Wink of Stella, they sparkle in the light. So pretty and a great contrast to the Cookie Cutter Christmas Kid and the background panel.
