Our theme for this highlight is to make a wedding card. We will all be using different Stampin’ Up! products with the same theme, but imagine how many different card designs there will be for new ideas to make for a wedding!

Design Details

The focal point of the card is most certainly the rose die cut made with Rose Garden Thinlits die. I created this rose by die cutting a piece of the Falling in Love DSP (or also called patterned paper). Then I used the stem/leaf die to cut from a scrap of Gold Glimmer paper. I then needed a grounding area for the design, so it was very easy to create a strip for my sentiment using Very Vanilla card stock to lie over the Vellum layer.  For the sentiment, I stamped from All Things Thanks. Only wanting a portion of the stamp to appear on my card, I covered the top portion of the stamp with a sticky note, dabbed on ink from the stamp pad and then removed the sticky note before stamping onto the card stock strip.

For a visual demonstration for making this project, please see the video link below.

I am using complimentary colors of pink, gold and light brown in this card’s design. This sheet of patterned paper from Falling in Love DSP works as a nice compliment to the white and brown colors in this design. For added attraction, I die cut the rose from the same pack of paper, just a different pattern. Using the patterned paper to make the die cut allowed this flower to have a natural look with highlights and shading. There are so many possibilities when die cutting the patterned paper with a thin die. The design lines will pick up colors that were not quite evident as part of the original visual effect of the paper.

I finished the project off with a few dots of gold glitter glue.
