Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Sometimes one small image can be enough to complete a project. Today I am using one itsy, bitsy stamp to make a Birthday card. After creating a large amount of holiday cards, I’m ready for a change. How about you?

Some stamp sets that are in my stash are a go to for my creative moments. Others I work with are just “sure things” that will never fail to create a card. The little birthday party hat may not catch the eye at once but it’s very versatile! And the sentiments are great for all sorts of cards.
Watercolor Color Blending
The beauty for me in working with watercolor paper is the ability for colors to mix while floating on the paper. The images are heat embossed with white embossing powder, which works to hold the fluid inside the lines. Consequently, it also keeps fluid out! The party hats were colored with stamp pads and an AquaPainter by dipping a small bit of ink onto the wet paper. By adding yellow at the top of the hat and pink at the bottom of the hat, there is a beautiful orange color that develops.
Working in layers to dry in between application, the look of depth can be achieved. While each coating of color was being applied to the background, I did give pressure to the barrel of the Aqua Painter that allowed the ink to flow onto the paper. Experimenting with color and water is a fantastic way to get accustomed to this technique.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂
