Sweet Soiree with a splash!
Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Winter is about to settle in for the season and all I can think about is spring. Beautiful spring flowers on pretty sheets of paper……. that’s what is in the Occasions Catalog! One beauty to watch for is the Cake Soiree Bundle and a great pairing is the Sweet Soiree DSP. My first project with this paper is a clean and simple card that uses Sweet Soiree with a splash!
Sweet Soiree with a splash!
I’m playing along with the Global Design Project this week and this fun sketch. Be sure to head over and check out all of the wonderful cards with the same sketch. Thank you to the GDP DT for choosing my card as a winner this week!
measurements for this project
Whisper White Thick card stock card base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Watercolor Paper panel: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP scrap + a strip of Basic Black for sentiment
Cake Soiree stamp set
When working with such a large focal area, I like to keep the sentiment small. Cake Soiree contains a variety of sentiment sizes but this one itsy bitsy sentiment works great for sliding into these bold images. Stamping it onto black paper really helps it to stand out.
Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP
There are a few new packs of patterned paper in the upcoming Occasions Catalog (available Jan 2018) that are very eye catching. One of the most stunning packs is Sweet Soiree. The paper is made to coordinate with the Cake Soiree Suite but is great to feature on it’s own as well.
Fussy cutting this bouquet was certainly a labor of love. All of the images are rimmed in silver, which helps to unify the design. To feature this beautiful arrangement, I added a splash of color to the background panel with Ink Smoshing. It’s a natural looking backdrop in one of the coordinating colors from the paper. This sketch design from the Global Design Project is a nice way to feature the flowers.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂
Having more ways to create a focal point on your project can make a project work for you. I hope you like this project and will come back to visit often! Thanks for stopping by today.
