Just say no to Christmas! for SIP130
Hello and thanks for stopping by today! My Christmas cards are completed and out in the mail so there is no need to make any more this season. The Stamp Ink Paper Challenge is featuring all sorts of cards with the theme of “Just Say No to Christmas”! Butterflies are a beautiful image, no matter the season. In fact, I have many butterfly Christmas tree ornaments. As a change in pace, here is a card project to get your technique mojo working.

Although there are no dragonfly images in this project, I have in fact used one of the stamps. The sentiment for this project was a perfect sentiment in font and size to compliment the butterfly.
Stampin Blends markers and Vellum paper
Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers are fun to color, no matter what paper is involved. Thick Whisper White card stock is the paper I choose for most projects and coloring on it works really well. There are other papers to use as well that don’t often come to mind, such as plastic window sheet (acetate), vellum paper or glossy white card stock.
Coloring on special papers has a different effect when using alcohol markers. They dry much more quick and stay put onto slick surfaces such as vellum. Being as vellum is partially transparent, the color applied almost glows when it hits a light source. It’s a most unique effect! While they markers are being applied, it’s possible to mix the colors right there on the vellum. For this project, I colored the vellum paper and then used a framelit to cut a portion away and mount to the back of another die cut. Imagine the colors you can create for this type of project!
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂
Having more ways to create a focal point on your project can make a project work for you. Thanks for stopping by today.
