Swirly Snowflakes 2 for 1 cards

Swirly Snowflakes 2 for 1 cards

Often times when creating die cuts for a cardmaking project, I get fresh new ideas. Such is the case with this project! The Global Design Project has a fun sketch challenge this week. A sketch challenge is designed to help inspire you as a crafter to create a card with the theme of your choice, to be able to fit into a preset design. When looking at this week’s sketch, I immediately thought of snowflakes all in a row and 2 for 1 cards. The offcuts are just as nice, so why not use them in an opposite card?

Why make one card, when you can make two? Sometimes when deciding on colors in my design, I play around with creating an opposite of what I had in mind. Flipping the colors can lead to interesting results!

Tips for this project

I chose the size of Stitched Shapes square die, based on the snowflake die. The design would have allowed a smaller grid or larger grid but letting the vision lead the task can make things really easy.

Choosing the paper colors can be a great way to incorporate a child’s design choice and get the whole family involved. Remember that there are many colors in nature to work with. Try making random paper pattern choices for a patchwork feel! (My kids are fans of the movie Frozen, so the colors here mimic the movie theme and make the kids happy)

To add accents, I used Iridescent Sequins that can easily be changed to fit each card’s colors.

Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set has a greeting covered for nearly ANY holiday or occasion. Don’t forget that it’s in your stash!
