Project #2 Merry Music Ornament
I’ve always liked to give handmade gifts at Christmastime. Crochet items are often packaged up and mailed abroad to family and friends. Creating the projects in the 2017 Christmas Ornament Tutorial Series has really been a joy for me. These are ornaments I’d like to see on my own tree, and can be created with kids and family members with a little advance planning.
Start with die cutting the largest scalloped square in the Layering Squares die set in Thick Whisper White card stock. Using the same die, neatly position the Merry Music DSP to the area you’d like to feature and make another die cut. These two pieces can be adhered and set aside. With the same large scalloped square die, find the matching straight square that creates a frame and cut out two frames from Thick Whisper White card stock, then glue then together. Once dry, adhere them with glue to the base unit to create a frame for the Merry Music DSP.
Using scraps of your choice, create greenery and accents for the bottom of the frame. Then sponge color with a Dauber and adhere to the bottom of the frame.
Tips for this project
Using a Sponge Dauber or a cotton ball, color can be added from your existing stamp pads to the card stock. This is an easy enhancement that kids can add to the memories of creating for loved ones.
To add accents, I used Silver Glimmer paper and a Basic Rhinestone.
Try out a very small sentiment from your stash, such as Teeny Tiny Wishes for a banner if you like.
