Guest Designer for Crazy Crafters Blog Hop
I am humbled today to be chosen as this week’s Guest Designer on Kylie Bertucci’s Team of Crazy Crafters. Creating cards to share with those who we love is a worldwide connection that many people share. I have made many friends through cardmaking and cherish each and every one. For this Blog Hop, the participating Team members will choose to recreate one of my previous card projects with their own products and customized charm. I also have chosen a card to recreate! I’m CASE’ing myself for today’s project and have chosen one of my all time favorite cards.
Watercolor Daisies Card
CASE’ing a card
What is CASE’ing? To Copy And Selectively Edit a card design by another crafter. Basically, to use another’s work as inspiration for your own new project. The crafters that are participating in this Hop will choose one of my cards from my Gallery here at the Blog and use the design with current product. I created the “So in Love” card earlier in the Spring when the Occasions Catalog was fresh and new. This stamp set has since retired and no longer available to purchase. For my project today, I’m staying with softly watercolored flowers in the same style, just with a different color scheme and type of flower. My watercolor daisies card created with Daisy Delight is in the same style and design.
Subtle Watercolored Flowers
To create this serene scene, I first started out with a piece of Watercolor paper and used White Stampin Emboss powder for the small daisy images from Daisy Delight stamp set. Once these flowers were watercolored, I stamped the leaf outline image, followed by the solid leaf stamp. Using multiple generations of ink on the stamp helped to lend an airy feel to the overall design.
I used a trio of ink pads for the background colors. Cajun Crazy and Rich Razzleberry work great in an ombre’ look and compliment the leaves of Old Olive. For a visual demonstration of this project, please see the YouTube video links below.
