Graveyard Gate Card
October has arrived! This week at the What Will You Stamp challenge, we are stamping with Graveyard Gate stamp set. With Fall being my favorite season, I chose to use the brick or stone column on my card in a not-so-spooky way. I love the look of purple and orange sunsets in the late summer, early Fall season. My goal was to capture the look on this project. Be sure to go over to the page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!

Graveyard Gate stamp set
There is so much good stuff in this stamp set. By now you all have had a look at it in the Holiday Catalog. It’s a graveyard and that may lead to creating a scary Halloween card. Because I am Mom to two very young boys, I want to demonstrate how a not scary theme works with this stamp set. The images are really what stand out for me in Graveyard Gate. I added the look of white leafy vines from Lovely Laurel Thinlits dies, just for fun and to help the theme really come across on the project. Relaxing evenings spent on many Texas porches have inspired this beautiful sunset image. I left the sentiment off as I plan to not make it a scary card but instead maybe a sympathy card when the need arises.
Working with Glossy White paper
To create this serene landscape scene, I first started out with a piece of Glossy White paper, a stack of paper towels, a Stampin Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol and a few stamp pads. After dripping a moderate amount of ink onto the paper from an aquapainter, it is misted with the alcohol and the color bleed begins. This is a lot of fun to watch, as it gives instant results. Be sure to allow the paper ample time to dry before adding any stamped images.
