Seasonal Chums watercolor card with Video for #SIP117

Watercolor card

This week at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge, we are creating a watercolor card. I’m very fond of this design style! Being as this is patterned paper week for me personally, I am choosing to add a watercolor element to my card. Recently I accepted a personal challenge from my good friend, Kelly Kent, to create more than a snow man… a snow family! So I am making a snowman and wife from Seasonal Chums stamp set.

This is a great opportunity to create a card with any products you wish while following the idea of a pre set theme. Be sure to go over to the challenge page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!

Watercolor card

Seasonal Chums stamp set offers a unique style of a front facing and rear facing snowman. The stamp is designed to become the front and back of a gift tag or to be used as a stand alone image. Isn’t that cool? The images pair well for watercoloring as well. This project started off with the background paper and the impression of it looking like falling snow 🙂  Shiny falling snow in a shade of Soft Sky from Foil Frenzy DSP almost takes over the design in this project! Stamping on watercolor paper, watercoloring with an Aquapainter and stamp pads and then cut out to be featured in falling snow is an easy project to duplicate.

Seasonal Chums stamp set

Seasonal Chums features a snowman image but where did the wife come from? Did we miss a stamp? Nope!

Using the rear facing image in Seasonal Chums, I simply drew a face on the snowman where it would normally be and gave it feminine features such as eyelashes and and different smile than the front facing image. Having these images hold hands is a natural placement in the design.
