Sympathy Card

Sympathy and other Themed Card Types

Sympathy and Masculine cards always seem to be the hardest card themes to create for many crafters. I have these same issues if I concentrate on it too long, lol. The solution I have discovered in my own crafting is to go simple and serene. By creating a card design with one focal point and a few subtle accents, I’m able to lend the feeling of a sympathy card. The “thinking of you” sentiment works for just about any type of card and applies the thought that we are in this together. No one is alone. So, the next time you tackle a project that has gotten your goat, just remember that you are not in this alone 🙂

Colorful Seasons Bundle

The focal point of the card is most certainly the leaf. Creating dramatic effect with high contrast colors is at once eye catching. I pulled colors together that share the same color tones and had a serene feeling for me. The stamping allowed the silver embossed  die cut area to be drawn out into the card. Highlighting the Tempting Turquoise layer behind the die cut area helps to transition the eye from the center of the target design.

I used stamp pads to color the watercolor paper die cut. Simple and no fuss can be achieved by any skill level crafter. This card reminds me of the stages in life and I hope the imagery translates to you too. Be sure to check out the YouTube process video I created for this project at the links below.
