Halloween Double Z Fold Box card

Halloween Double Z Fold Box Card

Today I am happy to bring you a card project I recently completed for AddINKtive Designs, by the wonderfully talented, Bronwyn Eastley. Following one of Bronwyn’s tutorials, I have had a fun time making this Halloween Double Z Fold Box Card. The tutorial instructions are clear and concise, which really was a help in zipping through this project. I chose to use the tutorial for creating a Carols of Christmas #1 Labels Double Z Fold Box card and flip it to look like a Halloween Scene using Spooky Cat Bundle.

Halloween Double Z Fold Box Card

One of my favorite things about creating with an AddINKtive Designs tutorial is the flexibility I have in customizing the project. Changing the colors to suit the personalized card is part of the fun of creating. I’ve added some personal touches, such as changing the theme of the card, to make it just from me.

This is an interactive card. The left side pulls up and away from the rest of the card to reveal an orange cat and hoot owl! And the card lays nice and flat for mailing but also stands up in the form of the letter Z. It’s too cool!

Here are a few unique touches

For the front of the card, I used Spooky Cat Bundle. The punch allows the cat to be punched out of Spooky Night DSP… perfect! Also used for the front of the card and to wrap around the right hand side is a panel embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Perfect perch for our kitty to sit on and the orange cat to hide behind.

Spooky Cat Bundle has the image of a really cool looking owl, which works well to sit on the tree panel of Spooky Night DSP. I stamped and fussy cut the owl to sit on the left side of the branch. It is hidden when the card is closed.

Classic Label Punch is the perfect size to fit the sentiment. I backed it with a small strip of black card stock. And who can leave off the rat? He sits at the bottom of the opposite wall. Fussy cutting the rat was funny because… I really am not fond of rats!
