Sketch Challenge for #SIP114 with Video

Sketch Challenge Card

This week at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge, we are creating with a Sketch Challenge. This sketch is easy and uncomplicated which will allow for many of us to get our creativity motivated. Half Full stamp set is new in the upcoming 2017 Holiday Catalog from Stampin’ Up and will be released September 1st. After seeing this sketch challenge, I knew it was going to be all about drinking wine with friends. It’s okay to get a little wine spilled, among friends.

This is a great opportunity to create a card with any products you wish while following the idea of a pre set theme. Be sure to go over to the page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!

Half Full stamp set

Half Full is a fantastic stamp set! The images are cleanly drawn and lend a detailed look that translates well into different cardmaking styles. To create the glass of wine, I first stamped in VersaMark clear sticky ink and sprinkled on Silver Embossing Powder. The image can then be melted and set with a Heat Tool to create a slightly raised and completely waterproof glass of wine. Filling in the glass was easy with an AquaPainter and Classic ink pads in Rich Razzleberry and Rose Red.

Ink Puddling Technique

Ink Puddling, or pooling, is a quick and easy way to place the look of liquid onto paper. By dipping the AquaPainter in the ink from the stamp pad’s lid, I dripped the color directly onto the paper. Usually I would grab a paper towel and dab up the left over fluid , but not for this technique! Getting the puddles to stay true to the color will require the ink to dry fully in place. The Heat Tool can help this task along. Wine stains are common with friendly gatherings and laughter so I thought to lend this look to my card project. I know a few friends that would bring big smiles and laughter to many happy gatherings!
