Creating simple moonlight with Carols of Christmas

Creating Simple Moonlight technique

During the month of August, Stampin’ Up! is giving everyone an early release of the Carols of Christmas products. This is a very unique stamp and die set that is versatile as a Christmas card tool or for general stamping occasions. In today’s card, I have used Carols of Christmas in creating simple moonlight. I think you will like this 10% off Bundle! The deer stamp can be featured in so many ways and is cute, cute! My kids already love seeing her pop up in my cardmaking projects.

Creating Simple Moonlight with Carols of Christmas

How can one layer of trees let itself stand out against another layer of trees? By adding shiny highlights with a foil paper die cut,  we give it a subtle separation but with a change in color and texture we are making a distinct difference of one row of trees from another. Placing the deer in front of the trees will give them a separation from the opposite trees. Also, adding a shiny silver halo effect to the side of the tree facing the moonlight gives them distance perspective and distinction in the design. It really just looks nice and I like the look of moonlight. How about you?

Christmas products versus All Occasion products

I have created a card today that could appear as a Christmas card or be given subtle changes to make it an all occasion card. How would you change this design to suit your card making need?
