Watermark images for #GDP096

Watermark Images

This week at Global Design Project, there is a CASE the Designer challenge. The idea is to get inspiration from a card idea to create in your new project. Today I am stamping watermark images to gain a tone on tone look with Dragonfly Drams stamp set. Be sure to visit the Global Design Project by clicking here.

The difference between stamping tone on tone with ink and tone on tone with a watermark image is the intensity of the finished image. Smoky Slate ink stamped onto Smoky Slate card stock will lend a definable image. It will be gray like the paper, but much more gray and visible than a watermark image.

To achieve a watermark image, I use a VersaMark ink pad. This is a clear ink and will not give a heavily colored image once stamped. There are many uses for VersaMark, such as holding embossing powder for heat embossed images. Mid toned card stock colors react very well to watermark images and give a ghostly effect.
