Repurposing stamps for different images

Repurposing Stamps

Repurposing stamps in our stash is an exciting way to BOGO (buy one get one free). Today I’d like to share how I imaged seeing fruits in the images of a balloon stamp. Balloon Celebration stamp set can also give you a fruity card filled with summer fun.

Repurposing Stamps

One great feature of a photopolymer stamp is it’s ability to cling to an acrylic stamping block. It may be good to know that both sides will cling to the block. This ability allows the back side of the image to be stamped onto paper. The advantages are that there is now a solid shape that closely fits the original stamp image and can be stamped in combination with the reverse. A cloud can be a potato and a round stamp with slash lines can be a lemon.

Turning Balloons into Fruit

The stamp that features intersecting lines in a circle now becomes a lemon or a lime when stamped in the appropriate colors. The smaller stamp with concentric dots can give the appearance of an orange or tangerine. Add orange ink colors to this mix and it’s a fruity combination! Playing with the colors a bit offered up a melon, complete with chalk marker seeds.
