Embossing Paste and Glitter with Video

Embossing Paste

Much like getting the fingers inky, embossing paste is a fun tool to use with your hands. The appeal of a handmade card is universal, and now with getting more hands on with creating backgrounds, it is a great creative outlet for all crafters.

Embossing Paste

Embossing Paste from Stampin Up comes in a sealed jar, ready to use. Grab a palette knife, your silicone Craft Sheet and you are off to the races! Once the paste is applied to your card stock, it will dry and give lots of texture to feel with fingertips. Many options for mixing in special effects are using re-inkers to add color, using the tool to create textured patterns in the paste or adding an element such as glitter.

Glitter + Embossing Paste

Stampin Up’s Dazzling Diamonds Glitter is a perfect mix in for embossing paste. I used a ratio of 5 to 1 for paste versus glitter. Be careful when adding too much glitter, as it could alter the texture of the paste and not spread over the paper as well. Once dry, the glitter is really sparkly! I kind of expect a unicorn to come flying through these pretty clouds! To compliment the blue sky, I framed the panel with yellow card stock to give hints of sunshine.

For a visual demonstration of these techniques, see the video below.
