Using a Chalk Marker on Patterned Paper
It’s a natural inclination to create a nautical themed card for a guy. What’s not to like, after all? Message in a Bottle stamp set will lend many different design possibilities, including clean lines to create a masculine card. Keeping the design elements simple always help me to create something in this category. To match the nautical theme, I created a beachy color scheme by using Marina Mist, Basic Gray and Sahara Sand. This color inspiration covers water, sky and sand and helps to bring all of the design elements together as one.
It is fairly common to stamp on patterned paper. Often it can be a challenge with open-lined images because the patter will show through the stamped image. One way to hide the paper a bit is to color in the image. For subtle white coloring I find myself going to the handy-dandy Chalk Marker. The Chalk Marker works on most any paper type and gives coverage much like white craft ink. Try using your Chalk Marker in new ways for your next project and it may be the one tool you rediscover! It’s a must have!
