Used on the front or inside the card, watercolor images are striking and can help to create the unique look of your signature design. Today we will look at two different ways to create simple watercoloring with no-fail results.

I chose to feature a few of the new 2017 In Colors in this project. Creating a simple theme by using bright colors can create a striking combination to compliment the dies in the Swirly Bird Bundle. This die and stamp set are available for purchase at a 10% discount through May 31st. The new 2017 In Color stamp pads are available on June 1st to the public or you can get it right now in your starter kit. So many new products are available for the starter kit at the moment that there are back orders popping up! Get your favorites now before the long wait.
Creating a watercolor panel
The watercolor panels were created in two different ways. The green panel is an example of creating with the “wet-on-wet” watercolor technique. First the paper is coated in tap water with an Aqua painter or paint brush. Once wet, simple drip on color from a favorite stamp pad or reinker bottle and watch the colors spread over the wet surface.
The second panel is created with applying the stamp pad directly to the paper. After colors are applied, a spritzer or mist bottle os used to wet the paper. Now the ink will react with the water and begin to blend. Once dry, the panels can be used with the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine from Stampin’ Up! to create beautiful die cuts for your card.
For a visual demonstration of these techniques, see the video below.
