Creating special effects with Embossing powder can make a stunning card. Using techniques can help in making a handmade card. There are so many ways to use our stamp pads, that it can get over complicated very easy. If you have ever wanted to create a background with a special look, then I hope you like this card. For today’s project, I am bringing attention to a different way to create an interesting background. This week at the What Will You Stamp challenge, we are stamping with Beautiful You stamp set. Be sure to go over to the page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!
Special Effects with Embossing Powder
Creating Special Effects using your Embossing Powder
To create the look of falling rain, I used a dry embossing folder and a bit of embossing powder. First I ran the card front through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. This gives a raised bumpy surface to the card stock. Once the bumps were raised it was easy to dab the VersaMark sticky ink pad on the bumps to allow the embossing powder to stick. Gold and silver embossing powder mixed together gives a platinum sort of look and just enough shine to seem like rain.
The stamping is featured inside of a cutout oval frame. I used the Layering Ovals Framelits dies in two sizes to get the framed and matted look I desired. The sentiment is a special treat! The Pretty Label Punch and Label Me Pretty stamp set are featured in the upcoming 2017 Annual Catalog. Inside the card, I used all five of the new In Colors for a floral effect with the sentiment. The new In Colors work great together! Swirly Bird Bundle is still 10% off through the end of May, don’t miss the discount.
