Design Details

This project looks clean and simple but it did not start off that way. I created the watercolor panel by stamping the daisy image from Daisy Delight onto watercolor paper with Memento ink. There are a few ink choices to use in watercoloring and this is one, along with Basic Black Archival ink. After stamped, I grabbed the watercolor pencils tossed them in a bag with a simple clip board to do a bit of work during my son’s therapy session. Crafting on the go is easy if you stick to a plan 🙂  To demonstrate the spritzing technique, I repeated the process during filming using a different grouping of colors.

Here is where things got runny. I did not allow the black ink enough time to properly dry and once spritzed, the recently stamped paper really turned into a nasty mess. You can check it out in the video. I left this process in the video and am explaining it now to make a few points. First, we all have these moments! No one is immune to a runny mess of watercolor. It happens to us all as crafters. And second, this is how you turn lemons into lemonade. I chose to expose only a portion of the watercolor panel by die cutting the edge with one of the new dies from Colorful Seasons. Using this die was next on my video list so I made the choice on the fly to combine two projects into one. I’m not unhappy with the result at all and did enjoy the coloring. This card will find a happy home and bring a bright smile to someone’s face.
