Simple watercolor card with watercolor pencils with Video

My youngest son loves strawberries and can not eat them in moderation. Springtime for my family always means fresh strawberries from the local farmer’s market. Sharing our love of strawberries, I chose to add them to a hand stamped card. Creating a watercolor card that is simple and also easy is a winning combination. Stamping with Basket of Wishes stamp set makes the watercolor process all the more easy with the hand drawn lines that include natural shading.

Watercolor Paper and Watercolor Pencils work very well with this stamp. To keep the ink in place, I chose to stamp with Sahara Sand ink and heat set this with clear embossing powder. Following the natural shading that is drawn in the stamp, I made put in more color in the darker areas, such as the corners of the basket and the layered strawberries. To ground the image, I outlined the basket and berries with the gray pencil and spread the color with the water brush.
