This week, the Global Design Project challenge has a color challenge. The idea is to create a card design that features a certain set of colors in a card project. To view the projects for this challenge, please visit the Global Design Project page by clicking here.
When thinking about using these colors in a handmade card, my mind went to Floral Boutique DSP with the deep blue tones and watercolored look. So many choices, though! I decided to use a medium print that could hold it’s own as a background. To echo the floral theme in the foreground, I created a large floral die cut with Special Reason Bundle. The dies cut away the negative space and are very versatile. After stamping and die cutting, I coated the die cuts with Clear Wink of Stella. These design elements are attached and part of a frame that includes the white negative space of the large flower.
Measurements for this project are:
Whisper White card stock for card base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Floral Boutique DSP layer: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Whisper White card stock frame panel: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ , frame is cut 1/2″ inside from edge
Scraps of Whisper White card stock for die cuts
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂
