Carousel horse card for any occasion

This week at Global Design Project Challenge, we are tasked to make a card with a theme of Amusement Park. Click here to visit the page to see all of the fantastic cards from the Design Team and to link to your contribution.

I am a big fan of discovering a new use for a tool in my craft supply. The recent tip from a member of Stampin’ Up!’s Artisan Design Team member Shannon, pointed out the perfect fit for the curling frame stamp in this stamp set, to the Decorative Label punch. Being as I have this punch in my stash, I had to give it a go. I am so thankful for crafters that share knowledge and inspiration, and I in turn share it with you.

YOUTUBE LIVE EVENT TOMORROW !!    I will be crafting this card tomorrow at 1pm eastern on my You Tube channel.

One of my favorite color combos is blue and brown. The vertical lines in this piece of Tasty Treats DSP from the Occasions catalog, lives a great reflection of the pole on the carousel horse. Tying in design elements helps me to make a card that I feel will bring joy to the one who receives it. After stamping in Pool Party ink and fussy cutting the horse image, I coated it with Clear Wink of Stella for tons of shimmer. Using Shimmery White card stock would work fantastic for this.

To make the sentiment medallion, I used the color hues of soft warm blue in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, together they a lighter and darker shade of the same blue. Staggering the stamped image helps to create dimension around the “You’re the Best” sentiment from All Things Thanks stamp set.  In making the outline for the medallion, I punched with the same tool, in Bermuda Bay and glued the piece directly to the back of the white punch out. This helps the sentiment holder to really stand out on the project.
