Our theme for this highlight is using All Things Thanks stamp set. We will all be using the same stamp set but imagine how many different card designs there will be with just this one set!
The focal point of the card is most certainly the stamping. I created this medallion by stamping with Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies to cut this into a circle. The Layering Circles work very well with the Stitched Shapes dies, so it was very easy to create a frame for my sentiment using Pool Party card stock. Directing the eye toward the sentiment, I decided to off set the circle unit and trim off the edge.
For a visual demonstration for making this project, please see the video link below.
I am using contrasting colors of blue and brown in this card’s design. This sheet of patterned paper from Tasty Treats DSP works as a nice compliment to the white and brown colors in this design. For added attraction, I die cut some leaves from Stylish Stems Framelits dies, and included a few pieces in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. There are only two sparkly leaves but I feel it’s just the right amount of shimmer & shine. I finished the project off with a few white sequins from Metallics Sequins assortment.
Measurements for this project are:
scraps of Pool Party, Whisper White card stock for die cuts
scraps of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for die cuts
Tasty Treats DSP: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Whisper White layer: 4 x 5 1/4″
Early Espresso card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (cut from 4 1/4″ x 11″)
