Easter will be here soon and as crafters, we like to send out cards. Massive amounts of cards? Usually we do, LOL. I have fun at this season in making many types of Easter themed cards. For teachers, I tend to keep it lighthearted and for family and friends, I like an emotionally driven Christian card. Today I will share with you a card I made using Basket Bunch stamps and dies. There are a TON of stamps and dies in this set! Many are very small pieces, which make it great to have a coordinating die. Let’s take that idea and use it to the advantage.
In approaching the design of this card, I wanted to use the basket filled with eggs. Shiny eggs that would capture the focus of the card. To do this, I would need to let the rest of the card play second fiddle. I grabbed the little scrap tin I keep beside my Big Shot machine and found several specialty papers that would eek out an egg die cut. This is exactly why I save the negatives from some of the die cuts I made, LOL.
It seems this entire card was made on the Big Shot. I created a background with Sparkle embossing folder and Whisper White card stock. The basket and all of it’s components were die cuts as were the layered squares holding them all. All in all, it’s a fun card and I like looking at it. The neutral colors pair well together and let the sparkled eggs do the work.
Measurements for this project are:
-Card Base of Crumb Cake card stock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ (scored and folded from 4 1/4″ x 11″)
-Whisper White card stock (for the layer) cut at 3 3/4 ” x 5 ”
-Whisper White card stock (for the dry embossed card front) cut at 3 5/8 ” x 4 7/8″
-scraps for die cuts in: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz, Silver Foil, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer, Gold Glimmer, Wisteria Wonder
-Whisper White card stock scraps for sentiment die cut

Using die cuts, like this basket, can make an easy card design and let the paper do it’s job. And besides, Easter cards are fun! Try out this design and share a photo with me so I can give you a shout out on a future blog post. I would LOVE to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by today.
