The ombre look seems to never go out of style. Bringing the ombre look into your stamping project can be easy once you master the process. Choose your favorite three shades of one ink color and let’s make a card!
I kept the design clean and simple, using simple layers. I made this card with some products that were already out on the table, just as an example of ombre stamping, so pink it is 🙂 I’m also loving these three colors blended together into one image. To really let the gradation of ink show up, I suggest you use a large stamp that will allow the color change to really pop.
I start with the darkest shade and work toward the lightest of the three inks. For this project I used Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum and Pink Pirouette. They are all shades of the same basic color. To keep the stamp in place, I used a MISTI stamp positioner. Add the darkest color to the bottom area of the stamp and dab off the color with a cloth (then stamp the paper). Next add the mid tone and wipe off what would touch the top area (then stamp the paper). Finally, add the lightest shade at the top area of the stamp (and stamp the paper). You can use a MISTI tool to keep the stamp exactly where it will not move, or try a Stamp-a-majig if you have one.
Measurements for this project are:
Whisper White card stock card front: 5″ x 1″ (for stamping)
Whisper White card stock card front layer: 5″ x 1 1/8″
Whisper White card stock layer: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Thick Whisper White card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
