Emboss Resist technique with Delicate Details stamps for WWYS106

The What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog‘s theme this week is to use Delicate Details stamp set on a card project. Here is my project for using this stamp set. To view the challenge cards from the design team and from crafters like me and you, click here to go to the blog page.

I chose to use this stamp to create a copper heat embossed background. Heat embossed images not only look shiny and feel nice but they are water resistant. Perfect situation for giving added interest with a bit of watercoloring. After the stamped image is heat set, I used a Soft Sky Stampin Write Marker to draw some color into the line of lace, then mudded it out with a water brush. You could easily use a standard small paint brush for this as well.  Bringing the colors into the sentiment, I chose to use more copper embossing directly over the bird image. Copper is dark enough to still be seen against the stamping.
