Heat embossing gives a special look and texture to any card making project. When you can pair these attributes with getting a striking visual contrast, it’s one good thing on top of another 🙂
Measurements for this project are:
Basic Gray card stock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Thick Whisper White card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ after scored and folded
Several elements make this card attractive to me. I like the color contrast, the cut away look of the gray paper and the feel of the embossing. For embossing the gray paper, I stamped with VersaMark ink and applied White Embossing Powder, then melted it with the heat gun. Careful not to stamp on the bottom 1/4 of the card stock, I was able to cut away the bottom portion to create a nice effect. For the bottom stamped portion, using a third generation of Smoky Slate ink gave the light appearance the paper needed, in order to not conflict from the top layer of the card.
