Time of Year Valentine card with video

Stamps from your stash. Do they get used enough or forgotten in lieu of something new? I’ve been digging in the drawer this week to use some “not-so-new” stamps for Valentines Day card ideas. The products in the Occasions Catalog are fantastic and I have so many new ideas but can’t forget that the stamps in the drawer were new once upon a time 🙂 Let’s check out Time of Year Hostess stamp set as a Valentine’s Day card. I think this project would be great for any friend or family member, not just a spouse or significant other.

The card base is made from Soft Suede card stock, which is sturdy enough to hold the panels well. I layered a piece of Falling in Love DSP for the card front, with the beautiful depth of this image. I stamped with Sahara Sand, in keeping with the colors in the Designer Paper and used vanilla card stock to compliment the colors. The large heart die in Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies is just large enough to hold the large scripted words. And don’t they already look to be in the shape of a heart! I added Clear Wink of Stella highlights on the words and paper to give some sparkle.

Measurements for this project are:
vanilla card stock layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP layer: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
sentiment: 1/2″ high vanilla, 3/4″ high sahara
card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

The bottom sentiment is made from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I think they have every single holiday covered in this one stamp set 🙂    It’s stamped on the same colors as carry the rest of the project and I made a small ribbon from Burlap Ribbon to add some texture. I colored the flowers as well with Wink of Stella to bring around the shine factor.

For a visual demonstration of this project, take a look at the video I made for this project.
