Are you ready for Valentine’s Day cards? Oh and I have another stamp set to use them with! Grateful Bunch is a set of stamps that are featured in the Annual Catalog. It is not marketed as a Valentine’s Day stamp set but I feel it will work very well. Do you already have this stamp set in your stash? Isn’t it great when you can repurpose a product for another season? I love it. Here is my version of an “I love you” card using new products and some not-so-new products.
I used a Blushing Bride card base measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ after scored and folded. To decorate the card front, I used a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock and patterned paper for layers. Falling in Love designer series paper has the image of all sorts of butterflies in flight and is busy enough to carry itself as a focal image. I cut this piece large enough for several of the butterfly images to remain uncut, so they can play a role in the celebration theme of this card.
I call this card design a “split panel” card. It’s not a gate fold card that opens in the front like a gate but it almost appears as though it does. There is the card base, then two panels that are separated to show a piece of patterned paper in between them. So the panels are split apart. You can adapt this design to any occasion of color scheme. The panel measurements are 2″ wide for the left panel and 1″ wide for the right side panel. Both are the full height of the card at 5 1/2″. The patterned paper is cut 1/8″ smaller to allow the card stock to act as a frame. For a visual demonstration on using these pencils, check out the link below for a video tutorial.

These heart dies are so much fun! The whimsical images in this patterned paper can also be used alone in a project which is a nice way to stretch your crafty supplies. Stay tuned for more projects using these cool heart dies. Thanks for stopping by today and be sure not to miss my Guest Stamper on the 19th!
