The Occasions, or Spring, Catalog release from Stampin’ Up! is approaching soon. Here is a sneak peek into one of the items that I am excited to share with you. Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper looks like the trendy coloring paper for adults. It is one sided patterned paper that you can either color or keep black and white. To accompany this paper, what would be better than colored pencils? Watercolor pencils 🙂
The card stock, patterned paper and ink were selected to coordinate with one another. I used a white card base measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ after scored and folded. To decorate the card front, I used a piece of patterned paper from Serene Scenery, that looks like linen or maybe wallpaper. It has a nice look of texture. For the focal image, I used this new coloring paper from Inside the Lines as a 3″ x 3″ square. I then framed/matted it with a piece of Old Olive card stock that is cut 1/8″ larger. This will allow the coloring paper to pop off the page. I used the watercolor pencils to color in the images of the paper. I like how these pencils match to Stampin Up’s colors perfectly! I colored with Old Olive, Delightful Dijon, Black and White. After coloring, I used Bermuda Bay and Basic gray to add shadows.
The sentiment is taken from Dragonfly Dreams, as well as the larger bee image. Did you notice how the bee matches the bee on the paper? I am sure this is no accident. To make the bee, I stamped onto white card stock first, cut it out and then stamped the outline image onto Window sheet paper. The bee die from Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits dies worked perfect to give a translucent look to the bee. I really like the combination of this paper with the Dragonfly stamp and die bundle.
