This week the What Will You Stamp Challenge is featuring the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. I have made several projects from this stamp set so far, yet I have not had a great deal of inspiration in using the Santa image. He does not look like Father Christmas in traditional drawings, he seems a bit more comical. Taking inspiration from the comical side, I thought he might look cute peeking about. He is a cute little cookie, this Santa guy.
My card base is made of Whisper White and measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 once scored and folded. To give the stamp a place to peek from, I created a split panel card front. The left panel measures 2 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ (with dsp cut 1/8″ smaller) and the right panel is 1″ x 5 3/8″ (with dsp cut 1/8″ smaller). These panels are attached with foam dimensional adhesive which allow the stamped image to slide under. The background of the split is a contrasting color from the same paper packet that I chose to compliment the card design. This style of card could be made with any color combination you choose. Imagine floral paper and a dragonfly coming out from behind the panel 🙂
For coloring the stamped image, I used a basic set of colored pencils. When the Watercolor Pencils are available for purchase, this would lend a great opportunity to try them out.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. Do you make whimsical styled Christmas Cards? This style would go well with a more serious stamp set as well, but hey, it’s fun to give someone a laugh! Let’s make it together!
