Guest Designer for WWYS #92 with Star of Light Ornaments

Today I am pleased to bring you a project that I made as a Guest Designer for What Will You Stamp. I am thrilled to share in this card making challenge and want to take this opportunity to thank the Design Team for allowing me to participate. The stamp set of this week’s challenge is Star of Light by Stampin’ Up!, that is featured in the 2016 Holiday Catalog. I invite you all to go over to the blog and view the complete gallery of cards from the Design Team. They have done some great work! CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE SITE

For this card, I chose to work with the Pine Bough Embossing Folder that has a small pine branch and to incorporate the star die cut from Star of Light Bundle into the design. These two sets were a match made for each other 🙂     I stamped onto a Sahara Sand cardstock with subtle colors to give a depth to the overall effect of the design. The embossing settles into the background, while the star die cuts take center stage.

I used white heat embossing to help the sentiment not get lost on the card. Adding small bows and a few rhinestones helps to bring the star images around the card and lend the look of ornaments hanging on a Christmas Tree. Overall, it is a simple card with a simple concept. I had fun making this card and I hope you like it as well.
