Working inside the card

How do you finish off a card? Do you leave the inside blank, stamp a sentiment or use patterned paper? By request, today I am addressing this question.

I first figure out what I am working with in my card. Is the card base sufficient on it’s own to not need a layer added inside? Is the card base color light enough to be able to see the writing? Is there too much bulk on the card front that would require needing an additional stamp if I added paper to the inside?

After getting a look/see with what I am working with, I decide on color and design. Eight times out of ten, I do not add additional paper to the inside. I do like to add a stamped pattern as a background and I add a sentiment. Do I finish off the inside of the card directly after I complete the card front? Usually I don not. I know that it would be easier if I did but I lack time so I move to another project. When signing cards, I use a journaling pen or one of my Stampin’ Write Markers in a shade that matches the paper and ink.

In the cases that I use a paper liner inside, I keep it simple. I only use a liner if it is needed. Is my card already too bulky to handle more paper? Is the cardstock used as the card base too dark to write on? This is usually my criteria. I love the Stampin’ Write Markers to sign and add messages to the inside of my cards.

Here is a video I made to help explain this process. CLICK HERE NOW TO WATCH or watch below.

Classic Stampin’ Pads in light colors work great for the inside stamping and Stampin’ Write Markers work for signature. The fine tip on the marker writes fantastically! If you have a suggestion for a video that would like to see, please leave me a comment here or on my YouTube Channel and I will see what I can do! I’m glad we could make it together 🙂
