In today’s card, I found yet another use for the stamp set, Forever Evergreen. In case you were wondering if I still hear Barbra Streisand singing when I think of this set, the answer is no. Barbra has left the building, 🙂 I like the sentiment in this stamp set, so I had an idea of how to use it.
The retro design of “This Christmas” DSP (designer series paper) from the Annual Catalog pairs well with the font in Forever Evergreen stamp set. To accomplish making my idea come to life, I would need to perform a little surgery. Stamp surgery, that is. I cut the stamp into three pieces in order to separate the lines and remove the word love. I wanted to have “love” be the focal point of the card.
After cutting the stamp and making a die cut of the word love from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, I put it all back together the way I had envisioned. I think it works well like this. The image of the stars is also from the Forever Evergreen stamp set. I stamped it in repeat and chose to heat emboss it in silver to match the die cut. To me, this card is reminiscent of 1940’s Christmas design and I really like the look. I hope you like it too.
