When I first caught a glimpse of the upcoming 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, I was thrilled to see a number of images that will allow coloring. I do like all sorts of stamps but my favorites by far are the “open drawn images” that beg for water and paint. My first sample to share with you from this selection of new stamps is “Merry Mice” (item# 142145) on page 23.
I paired these little cuties with This Christmas DSP and a Crumb Cake cardstock card base. For coloring, I used Bristol paper with black archival ink (that is water proof) and my Stampin’ Write Many Marvelous Markers. I can confirm that many types of marker work well with this paper, and it does make a huge difference on how the ink and water flow together. The beautiful ribbon is also from the catalog, 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack (item# 141989) from page 20.
Here is a video I made to show you the coloring process of these little cuties as they Deck the Halls 🙂
The supplies I used to make my card are as follows:
Bristol paper can be purchased on Amazon or at your local craft store
Merry Mice clear mount stamp set item# 142145
3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon item# 141989
