Are you enjoying the summer sunshine? Miss Fox looks like she is soaking up the sun rays in this challenge card. The challenge from Global Design Project this week is a color challenge to use three ink colors: Pear Pizzazz, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight.
The vibrant yellow of the Daffodil Delight ink reminded me of sunshine, which is what direction I took the design of this card. I chose pink for the fox because, well why not have a fox be pink? The greens are scattered around in the foliage and more pinks as well. Yellow worked out great for the sentiment, which was created by sponging the ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock to build up the color intensity, then use a die from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits dies to echo the sunshine theme.
Little Miss Fox is stamped onto Thick Whisper White cardstock with Flirty Flamingo and then punched out using the Fox Builder Punch. The mushrooms and greenery are from the same stamp set and I fussy cut them out by hand. The background is made with a sponge and ink, using the ink blending technique to build subtle color in the background, just as I did to make the sentiment.
The first portion of the greeting is made from Sunshine Sayings stamp set and is embossed onto black cardstock using my heat tool and white embossing powder. I cut them out and mounted them in a tilted fashion to carry through the whimsical feeling of the card.
I hope you like this card and I do thank you for stopping by today to have a look. Challenge cards are a lot of fun to make and stretching your creative limits can only result in growth potential for you as an artist.
