Hello and thanks for stopping by today! I think the least kept secret in town is how much I love a bird stamp. Tiny birds or bountiful feathers, I like them all. On the top of my shopping list for the new catalog was this wonderful stamp set. This past weekend I made time to sit for a quiet moment and paint a Better With You watercolor bird.

Better With You stamp set
When a brand new stamp set comes to you, how do you first feature the images? Are ideas ready and waiting in your creativity? I have been anxiously awaiting this stamp set but had not yet formed a mental picture of how I would paint him. That is one reason I really like to participate in cardmaking challenges. Being given a set of colors to make the image, it narrows the field for me a bit and helps an image to form in my mind. Thus, a blue and yellow bird.
The stamping was started by inking the image with Gray Granite ink and stamping on watercolor paper. Immediately I muddled the stamped lines to let the gray color form a shadow just inside the stamped image. The rest is adding in color to the areas along the stamped lines. The sentiment is simple and conveys a powerful statement.
