Embossing a card base with Video

Embossing a Card Base

Do you remember the card base I created a few weeks ago, with colored embossing paste and the brick wall mask? It has now been pulled out of hiding and transformed into a Christmas card! Embossing a card base is a great technique and loads of fun.

Embossing a card base

Embossing paste + a decorative mask = instant texture!  Adding color to the paste with an ink refill gives the paste an added benefit. Create an ombre’ look or emboss just a small area, the texture enhances any card project.

For a visual demonstration on how I created this project, check out the video demonstration link below.

Adding a Focal Point

Sentiment, greenery, sequin trim and a stamped image have been added to the finished card base. Bringing lively color to the pine sprigs sits in a great contrast from the gray background. The silver trim adds sparkle and movement and the stamped sentiment brings in whimsy. With so many ways to add a focal point to a cardmaking project, the choices are all yours. Make it special!
